Google Nexus One Wired Headsets – Stereo Capability
Some people are pretty happy with wireless. There are some people that continue to choose wired headsets though. There are some positives if you have a Google Nexus One phone when you choose wired headsets. It is important to recognize that your particular choice of wired headsets will determine how much benefit you realize. There are some basic considerations that you can look for though.
Bud or Cup
Yes there are wired headsets with cup designs available for the Google Nexus One. You may have experienced a more satisfying listening experience with cup headphones at some point in the past. It is true that cup headphones can provide an immersive quality.
Bud design wired headsets also offer a number of benefits. Some people prefer the lightweight and the more discreet appearance that they offer. These qualities are further complimented by the direct location of the speaker. This allows for lower volumes that may be less disruptive to those around you.
There are options for each that work with the Google Nexus One. In fact, nearly all 3.5mm wired headsets are compatible. You should check the details in your documentation though. Not all 3.5mm wired headsets take advantage of the sound-canceling technology that the Google Nexus One offers though.
Inline Microphone
An inline microphone in your wired headsets allows the Google Nexus One to perform yet another function that it is made to provide. You may be aware that there is a secondary mic on the Google Nexus One phone. This is used to monitor ambient noise and reduce that sound from the voice that is transmitted to the person that you are speaking to. Similarly some wired headsets have inline microphones. This allows for more precise noise reduction.
Not all headsets offer this. Selecting one that does may allow your Google Nexus One to work better.
Stereo or Solo
It is true that all cup design headphones may have two cups, but buds sometimes come with a single. You will not be able to take advantage of stereo capability if you have a single bud. There are a number of bud headsets that include a bud for each ear. These can take advantage of the stereo capability that the Google Nexus One offers.
With all of the video and music capability that your phone offers you may find that it is more than worth it to get the extra bud.
Style and Pricing
There are distinct looks available in headsets. Choosing one that expresses a little more of you, or matches you a little better can make for a more enjoyable experience. These are often accessories that can last the life of your phone provided you select quality options and care for them. Taking the time to find a headset that fits you is important.
The pricing is quite comparable. The average prices when this was written were from ten dollars (US) to approximate twenty-five dollars (US). Some of the pricing differences are based on branding. Within a single brand it is sometimes possible to find a number of different colors available at the same price.
